WebAug 26, 2024 · The FT-991A was a natural choice for the Fusion mode which works on HF as well as VHF and UHF! I enjoy the distance/heading function that Fusion offers. I can only think of one thing that Yaesu needs to add onto the 991A, On the GPS/CAT DB-9 Serial connector, for the GPS add a GPS power (selectable voltage) to pin #4 to the connector. Never really needed the second receiver, and I've never has a single issue with it - even as a pure field radio. My only complaint was the plastic mic connector. A metal circular would have been out of the question right?
